The Belgian Association of Producers of Materials for Construction
In 1989 several federations representing the producers of materials for construction decided to form an association in order to defend their common interests and to emphasize their specificity towards the public authorities and all bodies involved in the building and public works industry.
These 10 federations represent the following sectors : precast concrete, ceramics, plastics, cement, gypsum, fibre-cement, extractive industries, bricks, glass and mineral wool. The association called itself « Producteurs belges de Matériaux de Construction » :

Through its members, PMC is a main actor in Belgian economic life :
it represents 30.000 jobs and a turnover of nearly 7 billion EUR.

Moreover through its affiliation to CEPMC (Council of European Producers of Materials for Construction) it is part of an even larger entity at the European level which generates a turnover of 150 billion EUR.
